PRESS RELEASE
PREPARING FOR THE WORST
On Sunday, March 26th, members of the Township of Middletown EMS Department conducted a training exercise at Lincroft First Aid & Rescue Squad’s building. EMS members from the Township’s five volunter squads participated in this drill to hone their skills for the seasoned members, and to give supervised hand’s on experience for the newer members.
The purpose of vehicle extrication is to remove the vehicle from the victim, not the victim from the vehicle. This allows proper patient care and preventing any further injuries to a person that has been injured in a motor vehicle crash. Extrication Specialists and EMT’s work in conjunction with paramedics, if needed, to ensure the best possible outcome from a bad situation for the vehicle’s occupants.
